As rumors filled the web about the new Canon DSLR, Canon has announced, September 1, 2009, the EOS 7D digital SLR.
The new Canon EOS 7D DLSR a new 18MP CMOS sensor, Dual DIGIC 4 processors, ISO range expandable to 12800, continuous shooting at 8 fps and full HD video recording. It also incorporates a new viewfinder with 1.0x magnification and 100% coverage and a 3 inch LCD with 920k dot resolution.
Despite the naming, this camera is not a full frame camera. It has APS-C sensor which give 1.6 crop factor. With 8fps, this is one fast camera. Canon is doing their best to regain and reach more DSLR users with this camera.
Canon EOS 7D’s price will range $1,699 body-only or $1,899 with an EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens, and target launch is set for end of September.
