US PlayStation Vita store goes live

The PlayStation Vita online store is, at least partly, up and running in the United States. The console goes on sale in the US and Europe on February 22nd, but those lucky few who’ve imported a console from Japan can now access the download portal. Joystiq reports that the store already features five titles as Sony looks to get the infrastructure in tip-top condition for the official launch...

FarmVille Anti Cupid Goals: Everything you need to know

Since the Anti Valentine’s Day theme in FarmVille isn’t as large as the regular Valentine’s Day theme in the store, it only makes sense that we’d see goals in the game that will help expand on this lesser-supported theme. That’s the case this week, as FarmVille Freak has discovered the details surrounding nine new goals that have shown up in the game, all surrounding...

Apple’s patent hammer could crush Facebook’s gaming empire

Facebook needs social games, and social games need Facebook. The multibillion dollar company’s recent filing for initial public offering shows that. Thanks to Facebooks’ 30 percent cut of all transactions in games using Facebook Credits (um, all of them), the company made $445 million from Zynga’s games alone in 2011. According to CBS News, Apple is poised to ruin the fun. The iPhone...

Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Network is to be rebranded this week, with the service to be folded into the Sony Entertainment Network. The Sony Entertainment Network brand is big news for Sony as it is the first time the company has tried to bunch all of its online services under one moniker. Usually Sony’s PlayStation sector is immune to any changes the rest of the company is going...

Rumor: Playfish working on more storage for The Sims Social

Sure, players want lofty things like cars and jobs for our Sims in The Sims Social, but they have more practical desires, too. If there’s one thing that all players of Playfish’s top social game can agree upon, it’s that there simply isn’t even storage space. The Sims Social Fansite reports that the developer has announced that more storage is on the way, but without a source. According...
