The HTC Desire might have just been released in the UK (and news of it being rooted as well), but that doesn’t mean manufacturer HTC cannot roll out the latest Android 2.1 update for it, right? This update will be available Over The Air (OTA), as your HTC Desire (if you own one, that is) will receive a notification of this update – all you need to do is press OK when that happens to accept the update over Wi-Fi or a GPRS/EDGE/3G connection. Once the update is installed, you can always double check by confirming the Software Number as 1.15.405.4 for an HTC phone. We would strongly recommend you to head towards a free Wi-Fi hotspot when this happens if you don’t have an unlimited data plan, since the data charges could end up being pretty expensive. Anyone given this update a go yet?
