After countless leaks of the phone, including the a 360 view and user manual for the device, the long-awaited successor to the Motorola Droid 2, the Droid 3 is now official. Verizon has just put up the order page for the QWERTY-toting Android phone on its website. In case you need a refresher, the Motorola Droid 3 is the same phone as the Milestone 3 (that was launched in China a few weeks ago).
It packs a 1GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of storage, a 4″ qHD display, an 8-megapixel camera (capable of recording 1080p HD videos), a front facing camera, a five-row QWERTY keyboard (say hello to dedicated buttons for numbers!), DLNA, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It will also be a world phone with both CDMA and GSM capabilities for travelers who need a device that works all over the world. And yes the phone does come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, so you won’t have to worry about any Android updates for awhile.
The Motorola Droid 3 will set you back $459.99 off contract, and $199.99 on a 2-year contract with Big Red. Head over to the Verizon website to order the phone.
